altra domanda sulla RAMScritto daNon Autenticatoil 2008-11-04 14:08:00.0 alle 2008-11-04 14:08:00.0se il FSB = 1333Mhz e prendo coppie di DDR2-667MHz in configurazione Dual Channel saturo il bus o no? meglio le 800Mhz? Se si perché?

risposta trovata su intercac
A 1333MHz CPU means it's effective clock speed is one fourth of that (because Intel processors have quad pumped FSB) therefore, the actual FSB would be 333MHz.
Simultaneously, RAM clock speed is DDR (Double Data Rate) therefore, whatever the RAM's rated frequency is (for example 800MHz as stated above) will be divided by TWO. Therefore, 800MHz RAM runs at 400MHz, while 667MHz RAM runs at 333MHz.
For this reason, if you take the ACTUAL FSB of a CPU (333MHz for a 1333MHz CPU) and multiply that by TWO, that will be the RAM frequency you require.
In this case, the fastest RAM that you would need if you were NOT overclocking would be DDR2 667. However, if you ARE going to be overclocking, just take half the rated RAM speed, and multiply that by your processors MULTIPLIER to find the max overclock that you would be able to achieve with your current RAM rated at stock speed.
