Why so powerful?http://apps.sourceforge.net/phpbb/freenas/viewtopi...

My FreeNAS project was built around the ability to make a box from old scrap.
95% of the time my box sits, 150 mhz, 110mb ram in use and all fans and drives spun down. The point was to use as little power/money as possible.
Howcome everyone is building such MONSTER powerhouse box's for their projects? I feel like either I'm not using mine to the full potential or you guys are using them to house 50+ users in a work enviroment.
Why so much power everyone? Such nice internals.....
The only thing I can see spending any money on is,
Good and plenty-o-room case
1-2 Nice reliable NIC's
A bunch of drives
A power supply according to how many drives you have....
Why is anyone running more then a gig of ram and faster then 1000 mhz? etc....
