A child abuse victim speaks out
Child abuse
Dana was abused from the age of six to 15.
Dana Fowley was systematically abused by a paedophile ring from when she was six until she was 15.
The abuse was coordinated by her mother and stepfather in Edinburgh in Scotland.
On one occasion her mother stood by and watched as her daughter was blindfolded and raped by three men.
Last week, Dana's mother was sentenced to 12 years in prison. Her conviction was the result of her daughter, who for years had hidden what was going on, finally coming forward to report the abuse, and testify in court.
The BBC's Sarah Montague spoke to Dana Fowley, now 27.
This interview may be distressing to hear, and it contains material that is unsuitable for children.
First Dana was asked if, as a small child, she told her mother that she didn't like what was being done to her?
Dana Fowley's harrowing account.
